So last month I had tried out Adobe's new version of flash now called animate cc, I had decided to remake one of my scenes done in flash cc and try it out in Animate. With a week of trying it out here are my thoughts on their newest version. First thing to mention that everyone wants to here is the brush and it's pretty satisfying to use. I am very amazed on how much it sped up on animating because of how much more stable this brush is. I would draw a long line for a couple seconds and when I'm done with it I barely saw any messy results, the lines 95% of the time had always came out great and since I'm using a bamboo tablet, that made it even more satisfying. I barely had to redraw the same line over and over again. However this is where the brush has it's issues, If you were wanting to draw a small line or a small circle with a 100% zoom- in on the stage it is not gonna come out good. Whenever I want to draw a small line on the normal zoom- in it comes out incredibly rough and rigid, you have to zoom in more just to draw that small line and it just makes it feel like a chore to do. The other issue with drawing is the delay. Whenever I'm finished with drawing a line I would have to wait for 1/4 to 1/2 of a second for the line to render and it will get annoying when the majority of the time is draw. As far as crashes I had received 3 crashes during that week but atleast it will save your current work before it crashes. Overall I give this current version 7/10, it's heading in the right direction but it is far from stable. I will probably head back to try it again once an update on bug fixes is done but for now I am gonna stick with older versions like cs5.5, cs6 and flash cc for a while.
After many years, I have finally decided to have a Twitter account. It's main purpose is mostly gonna be art, gifs and animation updates. So if you like what I do and wanna see more, please consider following me;)
Before I make the decision of getting flash cs6, I'm gonna try the toonboom harmony trial today. Anyone that is currently using harmony, what r your opinions on it?
After 2 and a half years of putting up absolutely nothing on the site, I am happy to say that I am almost done my current cartoon for madness day. The cartoon has tooken me a total of 4 months to animate all the scenes while at the same time learning new techniques to apply in future cartoons. Now that I've got the motivation again after a long hiatus. I am hoping to do animation much more daily then before and I can't wait to see what's in store for this years madness day.
